Texas CE requirements
The rules are simple once you separate the pieces.
For General Lines Life, Accident, Health and HMO, General Lines Property and Casualty, Life Agent, Personal Lines Property and Casualty, Managing General Agent, and Adjuster licenses, Texas generally requires 24 hours of CE during each two-year renewal period, including 3 hours of ethics.

Ethics / consumer protection
Three ethics hours must be included within the required total for the standard major-license structure.

Classroom or classroom-equivalent
At least half of your required CE hours must use classroom or classroom-equivalent instruction. No more than half can be self-study.
Important: Texas has two general CE topic groups, General and Ethics. Courses are not divided by license type for state credit purposes. Deadlines matter
Do not make your expiration date your CE plan.
Texas recommends completing CE at least 30 days before your license expiration date so your provider has time to report the successful completion. Required CE must be completed before midnight Central Time on the expiration date to avoid fines and renewal delays.

Texas education providers report successful CE course completions through Sircon. The completion-reporting fee is $1.30 per credit hour, per student, and Bellview shows the applicable reporting charge separately at checkout.

How many CE hours do Texas adjusters and major-line producers need?
